About the role
SANY Nigeria, a subsidiary of the global SANY Group, is looking for a Training Manager to join their team in Lagos. You will be responsible for planning and delivering technical training for engineers, service technicians, and graduate trainees. This role involves both classroom instruction and hands-on practical training related to heavy-duty equipment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver technical training programmes for engineers and technicians.
- Design structured training to build technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and equipment familiarity.
- Provide hands-on and classroom-based training on equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Identify training needs and skill gaps to develop appropriate training plans.
- Create and maintain training manuals, presentations, and technical guides.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and hands-on training sessions.
- Develop and administer technical assessments and competency evaluations.
- Maintain accurate training records and prepare regular reports for management.
- Stay updated on new equipment models, technologies, and service procedures.
- Collaborate with Service, After-Sales, Engineering, HR, and Operations teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in heavy machinery, equipment servicing, maintenance, or engineering.
- Proven experience training engineers, technicians, or graduate trainees.
- Strong practical experience with heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
- Experience in technical training for construction machinery, cranes, mining equipment, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to develop structured training programmes and learning materials.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and instructional skills.
- Ability to deliver both classroom-based and practical hands-on training.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel to service locations or training centres.
- Ability to communicate in Chinese is an added advantage.
