Test Analyst – Integration Testing (OSB/WSO2, API Automation, Performance) at Vennote Technologies Limited

About the role

Vennote Technologies Limited is seeking a Test Analyst to join our technical and agile team in Lagos. You will play a critical role in ensuring that migrated services behave exactly as their original Oracle Service Bus (OSB) counterparts. This position involves designing and executing tests, building automation suites, and running performance tests to meet strict telecom SLAs. You will work directly with developers, architects, and a demanding customer to maintain high quality standards under deadline pressure.

Responsibilities

  • OSB/WSO2 Service Testing: Design and execute functional, integration, and end-to-end tests for SOAP, REST, and JMS flows. Analyze specifications and contracts to derive test conditions and identify gaps before build starts.
  • Functional Equivalence: Prove that each OSB service matches its WSO2 Micro Integrator replacement in terms of request, response, side effects, and error behavior. Run parallel-run comparisons during migration waves.
  • API Automation: Build and maintain an automated regression suite using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or Karate. Integrate automation into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure every release is regression-tested automatically.
  • Performance Testing: Design and run performance tests using JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner. Define non-functional strategies for throughput, latency, and concurrency to reflect telecom peak loads.
  • Test Management: Produce test plans, traceability matrices, and defect reports. Log and track defects to closure with precise evidence.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present test coverage, results, and risks to technical and business stakeholders. Defend quality standards with evidence-based arguments.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years in software testing, including 4+ years testing SOA/OSB integration services.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SOAP, REST, WSDL, XSD, JSON, XML, JMS, and OAuth2/WS-Security. Proficiency in SQL and Linux command line.
  • OSB/WSO2 Knowledge: Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Service Bus and working knowledge of WSO2 Micro Integrator/API Manager. Experience with OSB-to-WSO2 migration is preferred.
  • Automation: Strong experience automating SOAP and REST tests with tools such as Postman/Newman, SoapUI/ReadyAPI, REST Assured, or Karate. Scripting skills in Java, Groovy, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Performance: Proven experience designing and running performance tests and analyzing results against SLAs.
  • Soft Skills: Clear written and verbal English. Ability to work in agile teams under pressure and manage difficult stakeholders.
  • Certifications (Preferred): ISTQB Foundation/Advanced, TM Forum, or Oracle/WSO2 certifications.
