About the role
Ponticelli Nigeria Limited (PNL) is a subsidiary of the Ponticelli Frères Group, a leading European services supplier in the energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. PNL specializes in construction and upgrade services for Oil and Gas facilities in Nigeria, both onshore and offshore.
We are looking for a Tender Manager to join our team in Port Harcourt on a project-based contract. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering profitable project opportunities by managing the tender process from start to finish. You will be responsible for costing, preparing budgets, drafting bids, and providing clarifications until the award is made. This position requires a strong understanding of Oil & Gas EPC and Offshore project specifications, while strictly adhering to our Health, Safety, and Quality values.
Responsibilities
- Examine tender documentation, including operational provisions, technical specifications, and commercial requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers, partners, and internal departments to define deliverables for the tendering process.
- Define and propose technical solutions, methodologies, execution strategies, and draft work schedules.
- Perform cost calculations and project budgeting.
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals in line with client requirements and company guidelines.
- Attend meetings with clients throughout the bid cycle and manage relationships during the clarification stages.
- Produce reports and maintain complete records to ensure traceability and efficient handover to project teams.
- Manage the tender strategy to meet customer requirements and ensure proper peer reviews are carried out.
- Liaise with Technical, Contract, and Procurement departments for advice on method statements, technical solutions, and subcontractor selection.
- Coordinate with the Planning & Risk Manager regarding tender risks.
Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a tender, bid, or proposal engineer within an Oil & Gas EPC company.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
