About the role
PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc is seeking a Tax Manager to join their team in Ilupeju, Lagos. In this position, you will translate technical tax knowledge into practical solutions that support the company’s growth. You will play a key part in protecting the organization through strong compliance, strategic planning, and risk management. This role supports multiple business units across Nigeria and other African markets, ensuring the business operates confidently in a complex tax environment.
Responsibilities
- Support tax planning by providing analysis, forecasts, and insights to inform business decisions and budgeting.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, filings, and statutory remittances across multiple entities.
- Maintain accurate records, manage compliance trackers, and support audits and tax investigations.
- Build constructive relationships with tax authorities and external partners to resolve queries efficiently.
- Provide tax expertise for operations in Ghana and Kenya, helping teams navigate obligations and opportunities.
- Drive confidence in financial reporting through robust tax reconciliations and compliance monitoring.
Requirements
- A Degree in Accounting and a professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CITN.
- Experience in a tax-focused finance role, ideally within an FMCG, multinational, or similarly complex environment.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation, including VAT, WHT, Companies Income Tax, PAYE, and Transfer Pricing.
- Experience working with SAP and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax accounting processes.
