About the role
Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) is seeking a Surveillance Operator to lead the daily operations of the Physical Security Operations Center (P-SOC). Based in Lagos, this full-time position focuses on monitoring security events, analyzing incidents, and responding to threats. You will guide the team in maintaining a robust 24/7 security posture while proactively improving P-SOC processes and performance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the P-SOC complies with relevant security standards and regulations.
- Monitor and analyze video surveillance and telemetry fields to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Coordinate the collation and analysis of security data from internal and external sources to produce formal updates.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics, dashboards, and reports for P-SOC operations.
- Provide security context analysis and rapidly communicate relevant information to security management.
- Manage physical security systems, including troubleshooting and organizing corrective actions.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of direct reports.
- Ensure all security personnel work safely and report incidents or hazards promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a science or security-related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Relevant professional security certification (added advantage).
- Good knowledge of security systems and management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
