About the role
Ernst & Young (EY) is seeking a professional to join its Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team in Lagos. As a Staff member, you will work with dedicated accounting advisory professionals to help finance leaders address strategic accounting challenges. The team combines technical skills in IFRS, Canadian, and US GAAP with practical experience in financial reporting and deep sector knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management.
- Participate in performing Canadian GAAP and IFRS analysis procedures, focusing on complex issues.
- Create reports and other deliverables for clients.
- Understand the client’s industry, key performance drivers, and business trends.
- Stay informed of general business and economic developments and their impact on clients.
- Delegate work successfully and monitor the engagement team’s progress against the plan.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and provide feedback and training.
- Use technology to learn, share knowledge, and enhance service delivery.
- Generate new business opportunities and develop long-term relationships internally and externally.
Requirements
- A Degree in Accounting and/or other appropriate academic major.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience.
- CPA or CA designation.
- Strong experience in the banking or insurance industry.
- Audit or business experience in financial statement close or the application of accounting standards.
- Demonstrate mastery of key concepts related to process improvements, project management, and change management.
- Impeccable client relationship skills and a dedication to teamwork and leadership.
- Good communication skills, with proficiency in English.
