About the role
British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) is looking for a Sourcing Executive to join their team in Lagos. This junior management position reports to the Procurement Business Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa. You will manage procurement sourcing activities for Nigeria while supporting other markets in the region as needed. The role focuses on delivering value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities for Nigeria and support Sub-Saharan Africa markets where applicable.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand requirements and provide procurement solutions.
- Drive sourcing strategies, supplier selection processes, and commercial negotiations.
- Manage supplier performance, risk, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with BAT procurement policies, governance requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Support cost-saving, value creation, and supply assurance initiatives.
- Provide procurement market intelligence and commercial insights to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with regional and global procurement teams to implement category strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of relevant experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Category Management, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial savvy with the ability to analyze market and supplier data.
- Experience managing sourcing projects and supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of procurement governance, contracting, and risk management processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- SAP or Coupa knowledge is an added advantage.
