About the role
Echolab Laboratory & Radiology Services is seeking a dedicated Sonographer to join their team in Akowonjo, Lagos. This full-time position focuses on delivering high-quality diagnostic services, including ultrasound, X-rays, and ECG examinations, while maintaining global best practices in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to capture clear and informative diagnostic images.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and applying necessary gels.
- Maintain detailed patient records, documenting findings and technical parameters.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals regarding preliminary results.
- Review images to ensure quality and identify abnormalities requiring further investigation.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in ultrasound technology.
- Assist with research projects or training new staff as assigned.
Requirements
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Ultrasound.
- First Degree in Radiography.
- 2-4 years of previous experience as a Sonographer.
- A valid license to practice.
- Strong attention to detail and skill in proper patient identification.
- Ability to connect with diverse patient groups and observe strict confidentiality.
