About the role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc is seeking a Solvent Extraction Plant Operator to join its team in Ibadan, Oyo. This position is part of the Premium Edible Oil Products Limited division. Your main goal will be to extract oil from prepared palm kernel cake efficiently, ensuring high quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements in your assigned processes.
- Monitor temperature, steam pressure, flowmeters, and ammeters to regulate equipment set points.
- Inspect the extractor feed hopper to ensure free flow of cake and proper material seal.
- Take solvent tank dips at the start and end of shifts and report findings to the supervisor.
- Record indicator readings and quality control test results.
- Monitor the flowrate of Miscella and the extractor hexane sprayer pump.
- Check and monitor operating parameters for the DT, distillation, and hexane recovery systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
- OND in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Ability to manage materials efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
