About the role
JPatel and Sons Nigeria Limited is a private company with over two decades of experience in road construction across Nigeria. The company is seeking a Site Engineer to join its team in Kaduna. This is a full-time position with a monthly salary range of N600,000 to N800,000.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the construction of drainage systems, culverts, shoulders, kerbs, medians, and other road infrastructure.
- Ensure construction works comply with approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and budget requirements.
- Manage site resources, including labour, subcontractors, construction equipment, and materials, while minimising waste and optimising productivity.
- Oversee quality control and testing of construction materials, pavement layers, asphalt, concrete, and drainage works.
- Monitor project progress, prepare site reports, maintain technical documentation, and implement corrective actions to meet project deadlines.
- Supervise major road construction projects, particularly four-lane or wider asphalt roads, including earthworks, pavement construction, asphalt laying, compaction, and finishing.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards, provide technical guidance to site teams, and support project inspections, defect rectification, and final handover.
- Coordinate site setting out, surveying, road alignment, levels, gradients, and cross-sections in collaboration with surveyors.
Requirements
- Minimum Education Qualification: Graduate (Additional certification is an added advantage).
