About the role
TranESS, a renewable energy brand under the Transsion Group, is seeking an experienced Senior Technician to join its Technical Team in Ilorin, Kwara. This full-time position focuses on delivering reliable solar and energy storage solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. You will lead technical operations, ensuring high-quality installations and maintenance while mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, batteries, and charge controllers.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults in solar systems, electrical wiring, and related equipment.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior technicians to ensure quality workmanship.
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to determine installation requirements and project feasibility.
- Monitor installation and maintenance activities to ensure adherence to technical standards and safety regulations.
- Prepare technical reports and recommend system upgrades or repairs to improve performance.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to support project planning and delivery.
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in solar PV installation, electrical systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage technologies, and electrical wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Proven experience supervising or providing technical guidance to junior technicians.
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations and project sites as required.
- Relevant technical certifications in solar installation or electrical systems are an advantage.
