About the role
Alan & Grant is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to join their team in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. This full-time position within the Oil & Gas industry focuses on delivering innovative engineering and industrial solutions. As a senior technical authority, you will be accountable for revenue, margin, and the performance of the technical team. You will act as a trusted adviser to customer executives, ensuring that critical power business is won, shaped, and delivered safely and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Serve as the senior authority on AC and DC power systems, including UPS, inverters, and batteries. Design integrated critical power solutions and oversee site surveys and feasibility studies.
- Operations & Projects: Set preventive maintenance schedules, lead troubleshooting to minimize downtime, and hold end-to-end oversight of technical projects in collaboration with the PMO.
- Commercial Leadership: Sell consultatively to customer executives, owning revenue and margin targets for technically led opportunities. Lead complex pursuits from qualification to close.
- Team Management: Mentor field engineers, build staff competence through training, and enforce technical policies and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Power Engineering; an MBA or postgraduate business qualification is an advantage.
- COREN registration and certification in alternative power or electrical engineering is desirable.
- 10–15 years of experience in critical power or electrical infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong grasp of project costing, pricing, and contract risk, along with expertise in CRM systems.
- At least 3–5 years of experience carrying personal revenue or pipeline targets in technical sales or key account management.
- Verifiable record of closing large technical deals and leading major tenders.
