About the role
West African Exploration and Production company (WAEP) is looking for a Senior Petroleum Engineer to join their team in Lagos. The company operates OML 71 and OML 72, located south of Bonny Island. In this role, you will provide high-level technical support for reservoir management, production optimization, and field development to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and asset value.
Responsibilities
- Participate in well planning, performance reviews, and post-well evaluations.
- Support static and dynamic model integration, history matching, and forecasting.
- Evaluate reservoir and well performance using pressure, production, and PVT data.
- Provide engineering input to Field Development Plans, budgets, and investment proposals.
- Identify and mature opportunities for infill drilling, workovers, and production optimization.
- Coach less-experienced engineers and promote strong technical standards.
- Collaborate with Geology, Geophysics, and Production teams to optimize development decisions.
- Develop production forecasts, depletion plans, and reservoir surveillance programmes.
- Contribute to reserves and resources estimation and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 10-12 years of relevant upstream E&P petroleum or reservoir engineering experience.
- Relevant professional engineering membership or certification is desirable.
- A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
- Strong skills in reservoir surveillance, production forecasting, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
