About the role
Layer3 is a leader in Cloud, Security, Network, and Data center solutions in Nigeria. We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Abuja (FCT). This full-time position involves managing existing and developing new network infrastructure systems while supporting enterprise customers with high-quality network services.
Responsibilities
- Manage and configure LAN, WAN, and WLAN links, including MPLS L2VPN and VSI/L2VC.
- Develop automation tools and internal systems to support IP/MPLS network operations.
- Design and implement routing topologies for Core, Access, Metro, and Edge network infrastructures.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives using Cloud, Security, Big Data, IoT, SDN, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Provide hands-on engineering support for switching and routing technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, and VPN.
- Analyze system logs to identify potential issues and troubleshoot reported network problems.
- Perform corrective maintenance for IP/MPLS networks and supervise service implementation, testing, and handover.
- Respond to RFQs and prepare technical proposals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in troubleshooting and managing IP networks.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortigate, and Bluecoat is required.
- Advanced knowledge of cabling structured networks and a thorough understanding of network technology and protocols.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and operating systems knowledge.
