About the role
Ernst & Young (EY) is seeking a Senior Manager to join its ITTS Advisory team in Lagos. In this position, you will lead teams of professional staff on various international tax projects. You will also play a key part in business development and ensure that all assignments meet the firm’s high standards for quality, risk management, and engagement economics.
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with clients, regulators, and external parties, including tax authorities, NOTAP, and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission.
- Drive business development by identifying new service opportunities and expanding existing client relationships.
- Provide insights on tax subject matters and champion thought leadership.
- Apply quality project management strategies to optimize efficiency and service delivery.
- Monitor project progress, manage resources, and address challenges to ensure successful outcomes.
- Lead teams and provide technical advice on cross-border tax advisory, restructuring, due diligence, and regulatory services.
- Stay updated on local and international tax law changes and communicate implications to the firm and clients.
- Supervise, coach, and develop younger team members.
Requirements
- A degree from an accredited tertiary institution with a minimum of second class (upper division).
- Membership of a professional body (ICAN/ACCA and CITN) is mandatory.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in international tax services, preferably in a multinational corporation or professional services firm.
- Strong understanding of local and international tax laws and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Excellent business development, leadership, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
