Zipline uses autonomous aircraft to deliver life-saving medical supplies to hospitals across multiple countries. In Nigeria, your work will directly support uninterrupted operations by managing the reliable import, storage, and replenishment of finished goods, aircraft spares, and production materials.
You will act as the country-level owner of Nigeria’s logistics function. This involves setting the operational plan, managing external partners, making practical tradeoffs, and ensuring smooth delivery from international origins to Zipline sites.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end logistics for finished goods, spares, and production materials, covering the journey from origin to receipt at Zipline sites.
- Manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and warehouse partners to meet service, cost, and compliance standards.
- Build and execute shipment plans, including routing, consolidation, port/airport handoffs, and delivery appointments.
- Maintain inventory accuracy across all storage locations through cycle counts, audits, and stock monitoring.
- Lead import enablement and customs execution, handling approvals, licenses, permits, and documentation.
- Report on logistics health using KPIs such as on-time delivery, clearance lead times, and landed costs.
- Establish and improve operating procedures for inbound transport, warehousing, and emergency shipments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or operations.
- A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
- Experience owning an operating area end-to-end with limited oversight, including prioritization and issue anticipation.
- Ability to analyze shipment, inventory, vendor, and cost data to drive clear decisions and action plans.
- Experience building SOPs, dashboards, or controls that improve execution and reliability.
- Fluent English and the ability to work from Lagos, with occasional overseas travel.
- Direct experience with international inbound freight, customs clearance, and warehouse operations in Nigeria or a similarly complex environment.
