About the role
Tongyi Group Limited is urgently seeking a Security Officer to ensure the safety of office premises, staff, visitors, and company property. Based in Jabi, Abuja, this full-time position also involves carrying out basic maintenance tasks and reporting faults that require specialized attention.
Responsibilities
- Manage entry and exit points by verifying identification and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents to ensure safety.
- Conduct regular safety checks and routine security patrols to identify hazards and deter suspicious activity.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
- Maintain tools and equipment, including changing faulty light bulbs and performing minor repairs.
- Inspect office facilities and report electrical faults or damaged fittings.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
- Assist visitors and employees with inquiries while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Work closely with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- A minimum of an SSCE certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Honesty, punctuality, alertness, and strong observational skills.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and maintenance practices.
- Willingness to stay in the accommodation provided by the company.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and remain calm under pressure.
