About the role
Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja is looking for a Security Manager to lead all safety, security, fire-life safety, and loss-prevention operations. You will ensure the protection of guests, staff, and assets while maintaining high guest-service standards in compliance with Hyatt standards and Nigerian regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage 24/7 security operations, including patrols, CCTV monitoring, access control, and key control.
- Protect hotel assets, manage investigations, and maintain incident reports and evidence.
- Ensure fire systems are maintained and coordinate inspections with Lagos State and Federal Fire Services.
- Lead emergency response, evacuation drills, and crisis management.
- Verify that all contract security guards and companies are NSCDC licensed.
- Ensure staff rostering and working hours comply with the Nigeria Labour Act.
- Maintain fire safety logs and compliance with the Fire Service Act.
- Run regular security and fire-safety training for all hotel departments.
- Recruit, train, and supervise security officers and contract guards.
- Coordinate security for VIPs, weddings, conferences, and high-profile events.
- Submit monthly security reports and quarterly risk assessments to hotel leadership.
- Maintain complete records, including CCTV logs, key-control logs, drill logs, and incident files.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in security operations, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment.
- Previous managerial experience is required.
- Certification in security management, fire safety, or first aid is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of security systems, emergency procedures, and risk management.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to safety and security.
