About the role
The Nigerian Navy (NN) is a branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces and one of the largest navies on the African continent. They are currently recruiting qualified Nigerians for special enlistment into the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) Batch 39. Successful candidates will undergo basic military training and, upon completion, will be enlisted into the service of the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
Responsibilities
As an Ordinary Seaman, you will serve in the Nigerian Navy after completing the required basic military training. Specific duties will be assigned based on your training and the needs of the Service.
Requirements
- Education: SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits including English Language and Mathematics. Applicants with higher qualifications (HND, OND, NCE) are not to apply.
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Nigeria by birth. Dual citizenship is not allowed.
- Age: Must be between 18 and 22 years by 31 December 2026.
- Physical Health: Must be free from sight problems, ear problems, communicable diseases, mental problems, stammering, physical disabilities, flat feet, dental health issues, spinal deformities, or tattoos. Minimum height is 1.68 meters for males and 1.65 meters for females.
- Legal Status: Must be free from any previous criminal conviction. Must not be bonded to any secret society or unlawful organizations.
- Personal Status: Must not be married, pregnant, or nursing.
- Documents: Must provide National Identification Number (NIN), valid email address, and required documents (Birth Certificate, ID Form, WAEC/NECO/NABTEB scratch cards, Parent/Guardian Consent, etc.) at the recruitment centre.
