About the role
WTS Energy is seeking a Sales Engineer to join their team in Lagos, Nigeria. This full-time position focuses on technical sales and business development for pumps and other rotary equipment. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the oil and gas industry and will manage the sales cycle from initial prospecting to contract award.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new sales opportunities for pumps and rotary equipment across Lagos and wider Nigeria.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas operators, EPCs, and contractors.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and application recommendations.
- Develop tender responses, technical and commercial proposals, and cost estimates.
- Lead negotiations through to contract award and support handover to project delivery teams.
- Provide applications engineering support, troubleshooting, and technical guidance.
- Track pipeline activity, forecasts, and competitor intelligence.
- Coordinate with engineering, service, and supply chain teams to meet customer requirements.
Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Production, or Process Engineering.
- Required: Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or business development involving pumps or rotary equipment.
- Required: At least 5 years’ direct experience within the upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas industry.
- Required: Proven record of developing opportunities from prospecting through tendering, negotiation, and contract award.
- Preferred: Master’s degree.
- Preferred: COREN or NSE membership.
- Preferred: Experience with aftermarket sales, field service, or pump maintenance.
- Preferred: Direct experience with twin-screw or multiphase pumping technology.
- Preferred: Substantial positive-displacement pump, rotating-equipment, or engineered-package sales experience.
