About the role
Phillips Outsourcing Limited is looking for an experienced and results-driven Risk Manager to join their Risk & Internal Control Department. The company has over 18 years of experience in outsourcing and manages resources for major clients across Nigeria and Ghana. This full-time position is based in Lagos and focuses on the financial services sector, specifically pensions.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating organizational risks. You will also ensure effective internal control processes and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and review risk management policies, frameworks, and procedures.
- Identify, assess, and evaluate operational, financial, and strategic risks across the organization.
- Monitor the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, internal control reviews, and periodic audits.
- Prepare risk reports and provide recommendations to management on identified exposures.
- Coordinate risk mitigation strategies and monitor their implementation.
- Support business units in strengthening risk awareness and control practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of relevant experience in risk management, internal audit, or internal control.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, internal control frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working in a reputable audit firm or financial institution is highly preferred.
- ACA, ACCA, CIA, or other relevant professional certifications are an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and communication skills.
