About the role
SPIE Oil & Gas Services is seeking a Resident Site Engineering Superintendent (RSES-D) to join its team in Nigeria. As the company representative in Bonny, you will ensure that construction activities align with project goals, safety regulations, and technical specifications. This role requires strong leadership to manage site operations, contractor coordination, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) compliance.
Responsibilities
- Exercise delegated authority to ensure safe execution of activities in accordance with HSE rules and technical references.
- Lead teams to meet schedule and performance objectives while coordinating interfaces between construction, commissioning, and production activities.
- Manage risk assessments and control measures for simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) and authorize work only when safety controls are in place.
- Oversee the implementation of the Permit to Work system and coordinate with other operators involved in onshore pipeline works.
- Maintain clear communication with operations, HSE personnel, and contractors, and stop any unsafe activities immediately.
- Manage Temporary Construction Camp (TCC) security and safety in coordination with EPC contractors.
- Ensure contractors adhere to HSE practices, identify risks, and implement the Environmental Management System per ISO 14001 standards.
- Monitor physical progress, execution hours, and manpower reports, issuing weekly updates and final documentation dossiers.
Requirements
- 15 years of professional experience in multidisciplinary construction activities.
- Proven experience in Brownfield and SIMOPS projects.
- Strong HSE leadership skills and authority.
- Good understanding of engineering documents and progress reporting.
- Strong coordination and interface management skills.
- Ability to anticipate operational risks and manage priorities in complex environments.
