About the role
Ellasot Consulting is seeking a Research Assistant to support a reputable consumer finance organization in Port Harcourt. This full-time position focuses on gathering, analyzing, and interpreting market and customer data to drive informed business decisions. You will work closely with management to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights within the financial services sector.
Responsibilities
- Research customer segments, including traders, SMEs, and business owners.
- Prepare market intelligence reports, presentations, and summaries for management.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to provide actionable insights.
- Monitor competitors’ products, pricing, and market activities.
- Track economic, regulatory, and industry developments affecting operations.
- Collect and validate customer feedback to identify needs and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate research databases and records.
- Develop surveys and questionnaires as required.
- Support other departments with data and research needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Finance, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in research, data analysis, or business intelligence is an advantage.
- Strong skills in data analysis, report writing, and critical thinking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with research tools, Google Workspace, or statistical software is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Residency in Port Harcourt is mandatory.
