The Abia State Civil Service Commission is looking for a Registered Orthopaedic Nurse to join their team in Umuahia, Abia. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to create individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient conditions and assess needs to ensure optimal care.
- Provide immediate medical care in emergency situations.
- Maintain facility hygiene and safety, including decontaminating equipment and sanitizing surfaces.
- Assist surgeons during operations.
- Administer medication and treatments according to physician orders.
- Foster a supportive environment for patients and their families.
- Supervise and train Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistants.
- Perform routine procedures such as blood pressure measurements and injections, and maintain patient charts.
- Attend educational workshops and conferences to expand professional knowledge.
- Observe and interpret patient symptoms and communicate findings to physicians.
Requirements
- A B.Sc or diploma from a nursing program.
- A valid nursing license.
- Proven experience as a registered orthopaedic nurse.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines, including sanitation and decontamination.
- Excellent knowledge of emergency care and nursing care methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities.
- A responsible and compassionate attitude.
