About the role
Jaza Energy is a solar energy start-up dedicated to powering Sub-Saharan Africa by building solar-powered shops that charge batteries for home use. We are expanding rapidly in Nigeria and are looking for a Regional Service Engineer (RSE) to manage technical operations in the Abia region. This role is based in Umuahia and involves significant travel within Nigeria to support our growing network of hubs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to ensure energy uptime and system performance.
- Direct FSEs in troubleshooting, repairing technical issues, and optimizing system performance.
- Coach FSEs on best practices through regular training and professional development.
- Collaborate with Jaza Stars, Regional Coordinators, and the Network Operations Centre to resolve technical challenges.
- Oversee the setup of new hubs, ensuring seamless connectivity and regular maintenance.
- Review reports from FSEs on hub energy performance and prepare monthly performance reviews for management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through data analysis and reporting.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of technical or engineering leadership experience in the telecommunications, energy, or related industries.
- Strong expertise in solar installation, maintenance, and electrical design.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and the MS Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with HSE standards.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
