About the role
Transnet is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Abuja, FCT. The successful candidate will manage construction costs, prepare accurate estimates, and ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers.
- Prepare cost reports, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents.
- Review contractors’ quotations, tenders, and claims for accuracy.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities.
- Manage variations, contractual claims, and cost-related matters.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs and financial documentation.
- Monitor project expenditure and identify potential cost overruns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution.
- Valid practising licence or current professional practising credentials recognised in Abuja.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in quantity surveying and construction cost management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant quantity surveying software.
- Strong knowledge of bills of quantities, cost estimation, and contract administration.
- Applicants are expected to be between 30 and 35 years of age.
