About the role
Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a Quality Officer / Shift In-charge to join their team in Ilupeju, Lagos. This full-time position focuses on maintaining product quality and compliance across the flexible packaging production process. You will oversee stages including printing, lamination, slitting, pouch making, and laboratory testing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality checks at every stage of flexible packaging production.
- Inspect packaging materials such as BOPP, CPP, MOPP, PET, MPET, aluminium foil, PE films, and paper laminates.
- Monitor printing quality, including shade matching, colour variations, registration, and defects.
- Ensure compliance with lamination processes, adhesive mixing, curing, and bond-strength standards.
- Perform inspections during slitting and pouch making, focusing on seal strength, dimensions, and leakage.
- Conduct laboratory tests for GSM, thickness, coefficient of friction, surface tension, ink adhesion, and bond strength.
- Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and prepare CAPA reports.
- Maintain quality documentation and support internal and external audits.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, customer specifications, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- B.Sc., B.Tech., M.Sc., or Diploma/Degree in Chemistry, Packaging Technology, Polymer Technology, Printing Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the flexible packaging industry.
- Strong practical knowledge of printing, lamination, slitting, pouch making, and laboratory testing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to identify defects, perform quality tests, and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
