About the role

ABNL Limited is a 100% indigenous oil and gas servicing company based in Lagos. We are looking for a Projects – Start-Up Specialist II to join our team on a contract basis. This role focuses on the field execution of start-up activities, ensuring that project priorities for safety, quality, and schedule are met. You will work closely with project teams, operations, and contractors to manage risks and ensure smooth transitions to continuous operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to ensure project priorities of safety, quality, and schedule are achieved.
  • Provide unit-specific expertise during planning and start-up phases.
  • Collaborate with the Start-Up Coordinator and Manager to meet expectations for operations and integrated facilities.
  • Act as the focal point for interfacing with Operations, Integrated Commissioning, and Facility Engineering Teams.
  • Support the development and execution of the project Start-Up Plan.
  • Develop and execute downstream start-up procedures for safe and efficient asset start-up.

Requirements

  • Strong technical skills in a specified discipline such as Rotating Machinery, Electrical, Process, DCS, or Instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of project completion activities and commissioning practices.
  • Familiarity with Systems Completion Database software (e.g., WinPCS, MC+, CoConsole, Orbit).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Work Management Systems.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team without direct authority.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines and heavy workloads.
  • Previous experience in a closely related position and discipline-appropriate certifications.
