About the role
Ascentech Services Limited is a Human Resource Solution Provider based in Lagos, Nigeria. We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team in Abuja. This full-time role focuses on managing financial and accounting activities for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. The position pays a monthly salary of N300,000.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank accounts, ledgers, and project accounts.
- Monitor purchase orders, commitments, and project expenses.
- Process and reconcile invoices, payments, receivables, and payables.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
- Prepare project financial reports, statements, and cost analyses.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for EPC projects.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
- Track project expenditures against approved budgets and identify variances.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in EPC, engineering, construction, oil & gas, or project-based environments.
- Strong understanding of project accounting and cost control.
- Good knowledge of financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
