About the role
Sellafield Energy Resources Limited is a leading provider of resources and services to Nigeria’s energy sectors. The company supports oilfields and power plants by sourcing personnel, technology, equipment, and materials. We are currently seeking a Production Operator to support safe and efficient oil and gas production operations in Lagos.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production equipment and process conditions, including wells, separators, pumps, compressors, valves, tanks, and utility systems.
- Conduct routine checks and record operating data such as pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and equipment status.
- Maintain accurate shift logs, production records, and equipment checklists.
- Identify abnormal conditions, troubleshoot within assigned authority, and promptly report faults or hazards.
- Participate in shift handovers, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency drills.
- Apply permit-to-work, isolation, process safety, and emergency response procedures.
- Support planned maintenance, equipment testing, and inspection activities.
- Coordinate with control room operators, maintenance teams, supervisors, and other site personnel.
- Perform start-ups, shutdowns, line-ups, isolations, and other operating tasks in line with approved procedures.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly and follow company HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Relevant technical certificate, OND, HND, or degree in process operations, petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in oil and gas production operations; offshore experience is an advantage.
- Willingness to work offshore and on a rotational schedule, if required.
- Familiarity with production equipment and safe operating procedures.
- Understanding of permit-to-work systems, hazard identification, and process safety.
- Valid offshore safety training and medical certification, where required for the assignment.
- Ability to follow procedures, maintain accurate records, and work effectively within a shift team.
