About the role
Moniepoint Incorporated is a global business payments and banking platform serving over 600,000 businesses. As a Product Design Manager, you will lead a small team of product designers and be accountable for the quality, consistency, and business impact of the work they ship. This is a hands-on role where you will build design systems and tackle complex problems directly. Your team will work on customer-facing products (POS, mobile, web) or internal operational tools.
Responsibilities
- Set the design direction for your area and translate it into plans with measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with product partners to ensure designers start with clear, well-framed briefs.
- Maintain the integrity of customer journeys across teams and resolve design conflicts before launch.
- Run design reviews and critiques, ensuring accessibility and quality standards are met.
- Plan customer validation and define success metrics before development begins.
- Ensure the design system is used consistently, handling variations within the system rather than through one-off rebuilds.
- Build strong partnerships with product and engineering teams to keep design and build in sync.
- Hire, coach, and develop product designers, providing direct feedback and clear growth paths.
- Integrate AI tools into the design process and model responsible usage for the team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in product design with a portfolio showing shipped work on mobile and web.
- 3+ years of experience managing product designers, including hiring and career development.
- Experience setting design direction for a product area and leading a team to deliver it.
- Experience running design quality practices such as critique, reviews, and definitions of done.
- Experience building shared patterns or templates adopted across teams or markets.
- Experience shipping accessible, inclusive products for users with disabilities, new to digital, or on limited devices.
- Experience using AI tools in design work and building team fluency in these tools.
- Nice to have: Experience designing for POS terminals, financial services, or operational tools.
