About the role
Velocity Prime Supermarket, located in Ajah, Lagos, is seeking a Procurement Manager to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. You will manage end-to-end procurement activities, from sourcing suppliers to ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. This role is crucial for optimizing costs and maintaining compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to optimize costs and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate competitive prices.
- Manage purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
- Monitor market trends and identify new suppliers to mitigate supply risks.
- Request and review quotations to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Continuously improve procurement processes and standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a procurement or supply chain role within the FMCG sector.
- Must have worked in the procurement department of a supermarket.
- Proficiency with procurement tools, spreadsheets, and general office productivity software.
- Solid analytical skills to interpret data, compare bids, and track spend.
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of local markets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
