About the role
Java Design Concept Limited is a construction firm with over 20 years of experience in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. They are looking for a responsible Procurement & Inventory Officer to manage material procurement and conduct daily stock checks at their construction sites in Abuja (FCT).
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of materials received, issued, and remaining on site.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate prices, and ensure timely delivery.
- Verify delivered materials against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Visit the construction site daily to monitor and take stock of materials.
- Ensure proper documentation and accountability for all materials purchased and used.
- Monitor material usage to identify shortages, excesses, or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with the Site Engineer, Storekeeper, and Project Team for material control.
- Prepare regular procurement and inventory reports for management.
Requirements
- HND or B.Sc. Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- 5–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Good knowledge of construction materials and suppliers.
- Strong record-keeping and Excel skills.
- Good negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to visit the construction site daily and work closely with site personnel.
