About the role
Starzs Investments Company Limited is a leading indigenous marine logistics provider in Nigeria, serving international and local oil companies. We are looking for a qualified Procurement Engineer (Marine) to join our team in Rivers. In this role, you will support procurement operations by sourcing marine equipment, vessel spare parts, technical services, and operational materials. You will ensure timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with all procurement requirements.
Responsibilities
- Source and procure marine equipment, vessel spare parts, and technical services.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of materials to vessels, ports, and project sites.
- Support vessel maintenance, dry-docking, and repair projects.
- Monitor supplier performance and report any non-conformities.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and maritime regulations.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and conduct technical and commercial bid analyses.
- Manage vendor registration and maintain accurate procurement records.
- Review technical specifications and procurement requests from vessels and operational teams.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with vendors.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, OEMs, shipyards, and service providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of procurement experience in the marine, shipping, offshore, or maritime industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of marine equipment, vessel spare parts, and procurement processes.
- CIPS or another relevant procurement certification is an added advantage.
