About the role
Cellulant is a Payment Platform Infrastructure Service Provider regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria. We are looking for a Principal, Internal Audit to join our Risk and Internal Control department in Lagos on a hybrid basis.
In this role, you will supervise and mentor internal audit analysts, lead audit engagements across various functions and markets, and assist the Group Head of Internal Audit in providing assurance on the effectiveness of controls. You will work collaboratively with management to drive the company’s mission and ensure growth and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and provide mentorship to Internal Audit Analysts to ensure their work meets group standards.
- Lead the audit team in conducting financial, compliance, and operational audits by reviewing physical and electronic records.
- Prepare draft audit reports and observations, ensuring they are backed by evidence and documented processes.
- Coordinate with external audit teams and conduct follow-up audits to monitor management’s interventions.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of the risk-based internal audit plan.
- Identify internal control issues and recommend risk mitigation measures to prevent losses.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the audit charter, manual, and relevant policies.
- Establish effective working relationships within the company to promote adherence to internal control and governance principles.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of internal audit experience in high-growth organizations.
- A University Degree, preferably in a Business-related discipline from a reputable institution.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies such as ICPAK or IIA.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience in the payments services sector or fintech industry is an added advantage.
- Certification as a Public Accountant (CPA), CIA, or CISA is an added advantage.
