About the role
Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is a comprehensive public institution located in Ile-Ife, Osun State. Established in 1962, the university spans 11,861 hectares and includes academic units, residential areas, and a Teaching and Research Farm. We are looking for a dedicated Principal Gardener to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the university’s gardens and green spaces.
- Ensure the upkeep of the central campus, student residential areas, and staff quarters.
- Support the overall aesthetic and environmental quality of the 11,861-hectare campus.
Requirements
- 3 years of cognate experience.
- Three O’Level credits at one sitting or four at two sittings, including English Language and a relevant subject such as Biology, Agricultural Science, Forestry, Crop Husbandry/Horticulture, or Tourism.
- Digital literacy is required.
- Qualifications must be from recognized institutions.
- Eligibility for registration with the relevant professional regulatory body, where applicable.
