About the role
St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is a 64-bed facility in Ibadan, Oyo State, run in collaboration with foreign partners. The hospital is accredited by the NHIS and offers services including general medicine, internal medicine, O&G, laboratory, and radiology. We are looking for a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Pharmacist in accurately dispensing prescribed medications.
- Process prescriptions and ensure proper documentation.
- Manage inventory, including stock taking and monitoring medication levels.
- Monitor drug expiry dates and remove expired or damaged products.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper storage conditions within the pharmacy.
- Receive, label, and store pharmaceutical products appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records of drug receipts, issues, and stock balances.
- Provide basic medication information to patients under supervision.
- Support procurement activities to ensure adequate stock availability.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the appropriate regulatory body and a valid practicing license where applicable.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in a hospital or community pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with good practical exposure may also be considered.
- Basic computer proficiency and strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
