About the role
Scruples Resources Limited is a premier oil and gas support services provider based in Lagos, Nigeria. We are seeking a Petrophysicist III to lead high-quality petrophysical evaluations and support exploration, appraisal, development, and reservoir management activities. This is a contract position where you will supervise logging programs and mentor junior technical professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise cost-effective logging programs, including LWD/MWD, wireline, and core programs.
- Conduct detailed petrophysical analysis to determine reservoir characteristics, such as porosity, water saturation, and permeability.
- Monitor fluid movements and production performance throughout the life of the field.
- Maintain the petrophysical database and advise on testing requirements for exploration and development wells.
- Mentor and guide Young Technical Professionals (YTPs) and trainee petroleum engineers.
- Collaborate with drilling, production, and engineering teams to mature development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or physical sciences is required.
- Minimum of 8-12 years’ relevant experience, depending on academic qualification. Note: The application notes state that candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Skills in logging program procedures, open and cased hole logging interpretation, and mud logging.
- Experience working with an E&P Operator and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff.
