About the role
JB Limited, an engineering company, is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team in Ikeja, Lagos. This full-time position requires strong numerical skills and advanced Excel proficiency to manage payroll operations efficiently. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with large datasets and generating reports that support decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll accurately and ensure timely salary disbursement.
- Analyze payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll reports, cost analyses, reconciliations, and variance reports.
- Use advanced Excel functions to manage and validate payroll data.
- Calculate salaries, overtime, allowances, deductions, bonuses, and statutory contributions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies.
- Support payroll audits by providing relevant reports and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in payroll administration or analysis.
- Excellent Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF functions, and data validation.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills to interpret complex payroll data.
- Experience working with payroll software or ERP systems.
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
