About the role
BMG Partners Incorporated is a strategic partner providing shared services in Accounting, HR, Payroll, Tax, and Procurement across Africa and select emerging markets. We support NGOs, donors, and commercial clients by managing resources with prudence and foresight.
We are looking for a Payroll Officer to handle monthly multi-currency payroll administration, statutory withholdings, and fund filings for clients operating in Nigeria and West Africa.
Responsibilities
- Calculate monthly gross-to-net salaries, PAYE tax, pension deductions, and net pay in NGN and USD.
- Generate and send electronic payslips to client staff.
- Prepare bank payment files for salary settlements.
- Remit monthly PAYE tax to relevant State Boards of Internal Revenue by the 10th of each month.
- Process monthly pension contributions to Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs).
- Remit contributions for statutory funds such as ITF, NSITF, and NHF.
- Prepare monthly payroll posting journals and reconcile clearing accounts.
- Administer Employer of Record (EOR) payrolls for international remote workers in West Africa.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of specialized payroll administration experience in Nigeria.
- In-depth knowledge of the Personal Income Tax Act (PITA), Pension Reform Act 2014, and labor regulations.
- Proficiency in Sage Payroll, IPPIS, local Nigerian payroll software, or Odoo Payroll.
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resource Management.
- Strong attention to detail, data integrity, and the ability to meet strict statutory deadlines.
