About the role
Onstream Group is seeking an experienced and proactive Offshore Surveyor to join their client’s Survey & Geospatial Operations Team. This is a permanent supervisory position based in Lagos, requiring flexibility to work both onshore and offshore. You will oversee a portfolio of geophysical and hydrographic survey projects from planning through execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams in the use of equipment such as GNSS, USBL, multibeam echosounders, side-scan sonar, and sub-bottom profilers.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all projects.
- Interface with internal departments, clients, and subcontractors to manage expectations, resources, and logistics.
- Mentor junior survey staff and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry best practices.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and closeout of multiple survey projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate onshore and offshore survey operations, ensuring high-quality data acquisition and reporting.
Requirements
- Valid offshore medical (OGUK), BOSIET/FOET, and other required offshore certifications.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in offshore/onshore survey operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or project management role.
- Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with asset integrity, pipeline inspection, or subsea construction support surveys.
- Proficient in survey software (e.g., QINSy, EIVA, Hypack, Caris) and data processing techniques.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics, Hydrography, Geophysics, Surveying, or a related field.
