About the role
Total Data Limited is hiring on behalf of a leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company. You will serve as a mobile sales representative, acting as a traveling brand ambassador. The role combines field sales, safe vehicle operation, stock tracking, and cash handling. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets and expanding the client base within assigned territories in Lagos.
Responsibilities
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets in your designated territory.
- Promote the FMCG portfolio and identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Optimize daily sales routes to maximize customer coverage and outlet visits.
- Monitor and report on market activities, competitor pricing, and customer feedback.
- Visit existing retail outlets and source new prospective customers.
- Maintain the assigned company vehicle, ensuring it is clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
- Load, arrange, and secure products to prevent damage and maintain 100% stock accountability.
- Fulfill customer orders directly from the vehicle, ensuring accurate delivery.
- Drive safely and responsibly, adhering to road safety regulations.
- Collect customer payments upon delivery and ensure timely remittance of funds.
- Build strong relationships with route retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.
- Report any stock shortages, damaged goods, or inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain precise daily records of sales, orders, deliveries, and cash collections.
Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE education.
- 1–2 years of proven experience in mobile sales, route sales, FMCG distribution, or van sales.
- Valid driver’s license with an excellent, verifiable driving record.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic numerical capabilities for cash handling and record-keeping.
- High level of integrity, safety-consciousness, and self-motivation.
- In-depth knowledge of road networks in assigned Lagos territories (Mainland, Marina, Satellite Town, Obalende, Ibeju Lekki).
- Physically fit and capable of loading, unloading, and organizing FMCG products throughout the day.
