About the role
Lightread Consulting is looking for a Mid-Level Full-Stack Developer to join their team in Maryland, Lagos. This is a full-time, onsite position. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and shipping web and mobile applications across the company’s growing digital products. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across both backend and frontend development, with hands-on experience building APIs, web applications, and mobile applications.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services using Node.js and Express.
- Develop web applications using Next.js and React.
- Build and maintain mobile applications using React Native/Expo.
- Create and integrate REST APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Work with MongoDB and Mongoose.
- Implement authentication, payment integrations, and webhooks.
- Ensure payment transactions are protected against duplicate processing.
- Work with payment platforms such as Paystack and Remita.
- Troubleshoot bugs, production issues, and performance problems.
- Participate in code reviews and implement feedback.
- Use Git for version control and team collaboration.
- Deploy and maintain applications across cloud and server environments.
- Take ownership of assigned features from development through deployment.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in full-stack development.
- Strong knowledge of Node.js and Express.
- Good experience with React and Next.js.
- Experience with React Native/Expo.
- Good knowledge of MongoDB/Mongoose.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development.
- Understanding of authentication, webhooks, and payment integrations.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability, clear communication, and teamwork.
- Strong attention to detail and good time management.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Open to feedback and continuous learning.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
