About the role
EHA Clinics, a subsidiary of eHealth Africa, is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join their team in Lagos. As part of the Laboratory and Diagnostics department, you will report to the Assistant Manager, Laboratory Services. This full-time position involves performing a wide range of diagnostic tests and ensuring high-quality patient care within a technology-enabled healthcare network.
Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze body fluids, tissues, and other substances to identify normal or abnormal findings.
- Perform molecular diagnostics (such as PCR), hematology, chemistry, immunology, and microbiology tests.
- Manage laboratory workflows by matching computer orders with specimen labels, sorting samples, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Communicate abnormal results promptly to supervisory personnel, patients, or physicians.
- Operate sophisticated diagnostic equipment following standard operating procedures and quality control protocols.
- Contribute to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
Requirements
- A minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Science from an accredited university.
- At least 3 years of working experience in a medical laboratory, clinic, or hospital.
- Certification from the Associate of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN).
- A current practicing license.
- Additional training or experience in molecular diagnostic techniques such as PCR is an advantage.
- Strong computer literacy, communication skills, and attention to detail.
