About the role
Mikano International Limited is a Nigerian company operating in power generation, real estate, and construction. We are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Technician to join our team in Ikeja, Lagos. This full-time position focuses on ensuring maximum performance and timely reporting within the power generation sector.
Responsibilities
- Ensure tools are stored properly to prevent damage to steel materials and switch off all machines at the end of the workday.
- Stay updated on problem-solving techniques for issues like smoke, air in the system, leakage, abnormal sounds, and vibration.
- Use and adjust tools such as cranes, trolleys, torque ranges, and air ratchets correctly.
- Identify the correct sizes of raw materials like nuts, bolts, and washers for various capacities.
- Perform machine balancing and use cranes to lift heavy equipment.
- Report any abnormal spare parts or raw materials before or after coupling.
- Read and understand gen-set manuals, reporting any unclear sections promptly.
- Understand steel fabricating materials used for gen-sets, including base tanks, frames, and crossbars.
- Determine the correct quantity of oil and coolant for each series.
Requirements
- Minimum of OND in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in Gen-Sets Production.
