About the role
Ascentech Services Limited is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter for a manufacturing and industrial production client. This full-time position is based in Sagamu, Ogun State. You will be responsible for routine mechanical maintenance, reducing plant downtime, and ensuring equipment reliability. The role also requires maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS), including audits and training.
- Coordinate with section in-charges and provide daily feedback during meetings.
- Attend to routine mechanical problems and ensure spare assemblies are available.
- Promote quality, health, safety, and environmental standards across plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and identify improvements for plant safety.
- Drive downtime reduction and conduct Why-Why Analysis to identify root causes of equipment failures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in mechanical fitting or industrial maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant technical or academic qualification (SSCE, Trade Test, OND, HND, or B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering).
- Good understanding of plant safety, environmental standards, and IMS requirements.
- Ability to work effectively with teams and minimize equipment downtime.
