About the role
Reliable Steel and Plastic Industries Limited is seeking a Logistics Officer to join our team in Onitsha, Anambra. This full-time position focuses on coordinating the transportation, dispatch, and delivery of finished goods. You will ensure products reach customers safely and on schedule while maintaining accurate records and monitoring vehicle movements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the timely dispatch and delivery of finished goods to customers and distributors.
- Plan delivery schedules, transportation routes, and vehicle assignments for efficient distribution.
- Monitor transportation costs and recommend measures to improve efficiency.
- Prepare regular logistics reports on dispatch activities and delivery performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of goods dispatched, delivery notes, and waybills.
- Liaise with warehouse, sales, and production departments for smooth operations.
- Track deliveries and follow up with drivers to ensure safe arrival.
- Investigate delivery delays, shortages, or damages and escalate issues as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant work experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Good knowledge of transportation coordination, delivery scheduling, and inventory movement documentation.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment is an added advantage.
