About the role

We are inviting applications for a Lecturer I position in Biochemistry within the College of Medicine, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership, conduct research, and contribute to the university’s mission of excellence in teaching and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Teaching: Deliver courses in Medical Biochemistry for MBBS, BDS, and Allied Health Science students, including lectures, tutorials, and practicals.
- Assessment: Manage continuous assessment and examinations, including OSPE and OSCE participation.
- Laboratory: Enforce safety protocols, supervise practical classes, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Research: Conduct research under senior mentorship and aim for at least one peer-reviewed publication during probation.
- Administration: Maintain student records, contribute to accreditation activities, and attend departmental meetings.
- Professional Development: Attend workshops and register for a PhD programme within one year if not already a holder.
Requirements
- A Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in the relevant field from a recognised university.
- Registration with the relevant professional association(s).
- A minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification experience in university teaching and research.
- A verifiable record of scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
