About the role
VFD Group is an alternative financial service holding company dedicated to creating innovative products for Nigeria’s informal financial sector. We are looking for a Lead, OTC Market to oversee the development, growth, and effective functioning of our over-the-counter market. This full-time position is based in Lagos and focuses on increasing market participation, improving trading activity, and supporting market integrity.
Responsibilities
- Monitor market activity, transaction volumes, turnover, and participant performance.
- Work with market operators to enhance trading activity, liquidity, and price discovery.
- Support the development of new market features and trading solutions.
- Identify barriers to market participation and recommend solutions to improve access and transparency.
- Produce regular market performance reports for senior management.
- Maintain relationships with regulators, brokers, custodians, and institutional investors.
- Collaborate with Market Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Risk Management teams.
- Drive the onboarding and active participation of brokers, dealers, issuers, and investors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 8–10 years of experience in capital markets, securities trading, stockbroking, investment banking, or market operations.
- Strong understanding of OTC markets, securities trading, market structure, and settlement processes.
- Strong analytical, commercial, operational, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience managing teams, market participants, or market development initiatives.
- A relevant professional qualification in capital markets, securities, finance, or risk management is an advantage.
