About the role
Honeywell is seeking a Lead Chemical Engineer to oversee service management for key customer accounts in the refining, petrochemicals, and gas industries. This hybrid position based in Lagos focuses on delivering technical support, managing service commitments, and driving business growth. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their operational needs are met while collaborating with internal technical and commercial teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary service contact for assigned customers, building relationships across technical and management teams.
- Establish and maintain account-level service plans, tracking deliverables, timelines, and action owners.
- Coordinate the delivery of service commitments, including catalyst-related services and new-unit support.
- Manage customer-facing technical issue resolution, from problem definition to documented closure.
- Coordinate support for new-unit start-ups, catalyst reloads, turnarounds, and inspections.
- Develop value-based opportunities for inspections, training, and digital services to meet financial targets.
- Maintain accurate service-demand forecasts and staffing projections within designated systems.
- Travel approximately 40% of the time to domestic and international customer locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in the Refining, Petrochemicals, and Gas industries.
- Proven expertise in chemical engineering principles and practices.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage and influence others while collaborating across business units.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.com is a plus.
